Rituals create a slight or lengthy pause in the day to focus on our intentions. For example, having a morning ritual puts me in the right mindset to treat my body right.
I must admit that it took me years to realise how a good morning routine would turn into one of my most essential resources for feeling balanced, calm, and grounded throughout the whole day.
My morning ritual is to kick start the day with a cup of warm water, lemon, and one tablespoon of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar, plus an optional fresh ginger slice.
When I first started this ritual, the taste was too strong, and I decided to add just a teaspoon of ACV; in time, I got used to the taste and increased it to 1 tablespoon. So yes, It did work! I am a huge believer in the power of time and patience!
I make sure to dilute it with warm water, and one full cup is the minimum. You do this because Apple cider vinegar in its pure form is acidic. It may damage tooth enamel or even burn your mouth and throat.
The idea behind this detox drink is that raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar still has "the mother" in it. The mother contains good bacteria for the gut, vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. It is typical for apple cider vinegar with the mother to be cloudy.
Also, lemons will help the digestive tract flush out toxins, and they are one of the most alkalising foods for our system, meaning they balance our bodies pH. Also, it's known to be an immune-boosting drink because they contain a high amount of vitamin C.i should mention that they are also good for the skin since they soften and remove dead skin cells.
Knowing all these benefits made me fall in love with this morning ritual, knowing that I give my body the right amount of love and care by drinking this wellness cocktail first thing in the morning.
